In just a short span of 10 days, the highest annual salary record in the NFL (National Football League) has once again been surpassed, reaching $260 million, up from $255 million.

On April 18th, the Philadelphia Eagles Cheap NFL Jersey  renewed their contract with quarterback Jalen Hurts for 5 years, with a contract value of $255 million. This contract marked the first in NFL history to have an average annual salary exceeding $50 million.

Jalen Hurts' on-field performance was the primary reason the Philadelphia Eagles were willing to invest heavily in retaining him. Last season, at just 24 years old, Hurts led the team to the "Super Bowl" final, which is often referred to as the "American Spring Festival Gala."

However, the Philadelphia Eagles probably didn't anticipate that this record would only last in their hands for 10 days.

On April 28th, the Baltimore Ravens reached a contract extension agreement with their star quarterback Lamar Jackson. The 5-year contract is worth $260 million, once again breaking the NFL's highest annual salary record.

American football, also known as gridiron or American-style football, is the top sport for North American audiences. According to official data, the average attendance at NFL games is nearly 70,000, making it the highest attendance among all North American sports leagues.

In terms of ticket sales, NFL tickets are also far ahead. For example, the average ticket price for the 2023 Super Bowl was $10,385, with sales exceeding 100,000 tickets.

As a comparison, the average ticket price for last season's UEFA Champions League final was £130 (approximately ¥1,132) for 40,000 tickets. NBA games have even fewer ticket sales, with an average attendance of around 10,000.

Moreover, the NFL also leads in terms of television viewership and online streaming data among North American sports leagues.

The halftime show of the 2023 Super Bowl had an average viewership of 113 million, reaching its peak during Rihanna's performance. In contrast, the average viewership for NBA games in the United States is only around 3.8 million, and the total viewership for MLB and NHL is also around 3 million.

High attention brings corresponding high commercial value, making NFL broadcasting rights highly coveted.

According to The Wall Street Journal, DirecTV currently pays an average of $1.5 billion per season for the rights to broadcast NFL Sunday games. This year, YouTube also acquired the rights to broadcast NFL Sunday games for seven years at an average of approximately $2 billion per season.

In terms of commercial sponsorship, during the 2022-2023 season, total sponsorship revenue for the NFL and its teams increased by 4% to $1.88 billion. This year's Super Bowl main sponsor, Apple, even spent $50 million to have Apple Music featured in the halftime show.

According to Bloomberg, the NFL ranked first in revenue among all sports leagues worldwide last year, with revenue reaching $13 billion.

According to the NFL's development goals, the league aims to increase its revenue to $25 billion by 2027. International business, including the Chinese market, will be a crucial area of focus for the NFL's growth.

However, the reality is that the NFL has not been successful in the Chinese market. Despite establishing an office in China in 2007, the leading North American sports league's influence in the Chinese market has never surpassed that of the NBA. In fact, the NBA's continuous rise among the top four North American sports leagues has been significantly fueled by overseas markets, led by China.
